About Darkcastings
Coming 5/15/2008 on Talkshoe ID: 18648.
Horror, in the most general sense, is a basic human emotion associated with fear. Horror is fear pushed to an extreme. Physical extremes, psychological extremes and even comedic extremes.
Humans tend to be fascinated by that which scares us. We like roller coasters even if we are afraid of heights. We look at spiders in fascination even if we suffer from arachnophobia.
Horror movies, books, photos, etc. are in some ways therapeutic, allowing fears to be confronted and overcome from a safe distance. Horror is also a way of expressing ideas deep within our minds. A method of expression for violent or malevolent impulses. The result creates something hopefully artful if not disturbing.
Please join us weekly as we review all aspects of horror. Some people join book clubs, why not join a horror club instead?
We'll be waiting for a piece of your brain.
